Essential Oils and Hair Growth: 7 Oils for Hair Loss
There are many factors that contribute to hair growth and hair loss. Some more common ones are age, health, stress, diet, hormones, medications and genes. There are many over-the-counter treatments that promote hair growth. Most of them contain minoxidil, but this treatment is only good as long as you take it. As soon as you stop, it stops working and the hair loss begins again. There are also shampoos that will slow down your hair loss by blocking DHT, by cleaning your scalp of impurities, and delivering bio nutrients to it. Most of these shampoos have a high price tag on them.
When it comes to essential oils and hair growth, using essential oils are much safer and more cost effective and just as effective as conventional hair care products. Plus, essential oils are all natural, which means they are free of any dangerous chemicals.
There are essential oils that can nourish the hair, stimulate the scalp, promote natural healing and strengthening, calm and reduce swelling, and regulate oil production.

Healthy Hair Tip
When we talk about essential oils and hair growth, another thing to think about is avoiding toxins that are in your hair care routine. Hair care products, such as shampoos, gels, hairspray, heat protectors, all have chemicals in them. Ideally, you want to use as little as possible. Substances like sulfates, which are surfactants and are responsible for the rich lather, can be counterproductive to your quest for strong, healthy hair. The fewer toxins you use, the better for your hair to be healthy.
How to Use Essential Oils for Hair
The simplest way would be to add a couple drops of essential oils to a dollop of shampoo and mix well. It’s important to select a quality shampoo without harmful chemicals.
Besides adding essential oils to your shampoo, you could create a conditioning oil treatment that you can apply weekly. Using 2-5 drops of an essential oil or essential oil blend mixed with a tablespoon of carrier oil, massage into scalp. Leave on for 1 to 2 hours, then wash out. Good carrier oils are jojoba, coconut, castor oil, carrot seed oil, avocado, hemp, and argan oil.
