Artisan Aromatics Review: First Class Oils
I recently discovered an essential oil company online that has made a very good impression on me. Artisan Aromatics is a company that sells therapeutic quality essential oils and enfleurage oils. When they say therapeutic quality essential oil, they are saying their oils are 100-percent pure and natural with no synthetics, adulteration, no animal products and are cruelty-free. They also offer carrier oils, hydrosols, lotions, perfumes, supplies and more.
As I stated in my last blog, An Essential Oils Guide. Take a Good Look When Buying Essential Oils, there are a few things you should look for when you buy from an essential oil company. This company has all these things.
- Botanical name
- Organic and wildcrafted
- Testing
- Price
- Consumer information
- Sustainability
- Safety
Botanical Name
For every oil they have, Artisan Aromatics gives the common name, as well as the botanical name. For example: Lavender essential oil would be the common name, and Lavandula angustifolia is the Latin name for the lavender from Bulgaria. They also name the places of origin for all their oils, which are from 6 different continents.
Organic and Wildcrafted
Artisan Aromatics carefully examines the certified growers and distillers of organic essential oils for how the plant is grown and harvested and how its produced. Artisan Aromatics has around 36 different types of organic essential oils.
The wildcrafted essential oils are harvested without using chemicals and are also carefully examined by Artisan Aromatics. If the roots are harvested, the growers will plant seeds or seedlings in order to not deplete the plant species. This helps with sustainability. Artisan Aromatics also has around 36 different types of wildcrafted essential oils.
Testing. Not only GC/MS Reports
All of their oils are tested by independent labs. The folks at Artisan Aromatics look into the growing and harvesting of the plants and production of the oil. They go over the third party GC/MS reports that check for what’s in the oil to see if there are any additives, other oils, and to find the beneficial compounds and percentages in the oils. These tests are done continually. They also look over material called safety data sheets to give you safety considerations, as well as possible risks.
How Much Do They Cost?
You might think they’re more expensive than some. But then again, there’s a lot of cheaper oils that mainly come from China and are not 100-percent pure essential oils.
With the amount of plant matter that goes into making essential oils, there’s no way you could sell the oils at a cheap price without adding some other cheaper oil to it. For instance, it takes 65 pounds of rose petals to make 15ml of oil.
I looked online at other prices, and saw that Artisan Aromatics aren’t as expensive as some other companies. For example: Artisan Aromatics Lavender oil is $17 for 15ml. doTerra’s lavender oil is $30.67 for 15ml, and Young Living’s oil is $24.25 for 15ml.
So for 100% fresh, pure, and tested oil, you really can’t go wrong. And with 100% pure oil you don’t have to use as much. You use very little at a time.
Abundant Information
They give so much information that they leave no question you might have unanswered. For each oil you will be given information on
- Botanical name
- Origin (Italy, France, Bulgaria, etc.)
- Cultivation (wildcrafted, organic, conventional)
- Method of extraction (steam distilled, cold expression, enfleuraged)
- Source (flowers, leaves, bark, peel)
- Note (base, middle, top)
- Blends (the oils that it blends well with)
- Description (Tells a little about the oil, some background information)
- Uses (anti-inflammatory, sedative, stimulant, expectorant, pain relief)
- History (tells a little about the history of the oil)
- Safety information (careful storage and usage guidelines)
So, so much information for each individual essential oil.
What’s the sustainability?
The owners, Ivan Prim and his wife, Joie Power, PhD, have a love of nature and clean living. In working with small scale distillers and suppliers, they not only offer therapeutic quality oils, but they ensure the products are produced in a socially and environmentally responsible manner to make sure resources are not depleted.
Safety
For each oil they have a section on the safe handling and storage of each oil they carry.
My Conclusion
My opinion is that Artisan Aromatics cares for its customers. They strive to make sure you have 100% pure essential oils. They get their oils from small farms and distilleries and these oils are tested for purity. I like the fact that they care for the environment. Since they’re a smaller company and don’t bottle the oils until you order them, you’re getting a more personal shopping experience and fresher oils. With all the aforementioned things I know about Artisan Aromatics, they have everything I look for in an oil company, and I’m sure you do too. I would encourage you to go to their website and see what they have for you.
Very often, I buy essential oils without knowing how much percentage of the oil is made of natural and genuine ingredients. It is good to know that there is a reliable place which sells all natural essential oils without other chemicals. I like that they provide such information about each type of essential oil! This is really amazing as very often, shops does not provide information as detailed as this and I have to find out more info by myself! I will definitely take a look at the products and try them out! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Thank you and you’re very welcome. This is what I love about this company. They give you all this information, and you don’t have to hunt for it. I think you’ll enjoy their products.
I love your review of Artisan Aromatics. I requested a practitioners account with them. I am really excited to try their oils at my Wellness Center. Thank you for the awesome info.
Thank you and I’m so happy to hear it. I think you’ve made a wonderful decision. Would like to know what you think of their oils in the future. Take care.
Artisan Aromatics sounds like a great company! One thing I look for in a company when it comes to something I am going to ingest in some way is transparency. It sounds like this company definitely believes in that also since they provide a plethora of information! I have never heard of them before reading this so thank you for writing this helpful review. I have only purchased a few essential oils in the past and am looking to buy more, but I don’t know too much about them so this is super helpful. Thank you!
Thank you very much Dan. I’m glad this helped.
